IT specialists come to the aid of fruit farmers
7 October 2014
Ripe, fragrant, juicy, Class A quality – such are the apples being provided to Ericpol’s employees. On Tuesday Ericpol launched a campaign aimed at encouraging the consumption of Polish fruit and supporting native fruit farmers.
Every morning fresh fruit will be delivered to the kitchens at all Ericpol’s offices. This campaign is initially planned to be continued until April next year.
“Ericpol employs 1700 people. If each of our employees eats one apple every day, it will not have much influence on the plight of Polish farmers. However, we believe that by joining the group of “apple“ companies, we can create an increasingly larger unity and prove that we are stronger together. Besides, eating apples is healthy for everyone,” says Anna Smela Kjellin, Vice-President of Ericpol’s Board of Management, herself a huge fan of the Ligol variety of apple.
One medium-sized apple provides around 70 calories, 12 mg of vitamin C and quite a lot of zinc and fibre. It is also very tasty and is a perfect snack for brunch. Ericpol has planned purchases of apples for all its offices in Łódź, Cracow, at least until the end of April 2015. It is also encouraging the customers and employees of its subsidiary companies in Sweden, Belarus and Ukraine to eat Polish apples.
