Investment in Łódź: General Contractor selected
8 July 2013
The agreement with the General Contractor signed on July 3 allowed Ericpol to hand over the construction site to the Strabag company. The building, which will be constructed in the Łódź Special Economic Zone, at the junction of Sienkiewicza and Tymienieckiego Streets, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014.
“The agreement with the Strabag company was signed last Wednesday. Today the construction works have begun. We hope that this rate of work will continue for the next 17 months and our employees will move to the new headquarters at the beginning of 2015” – says Marek Ciastoń, Ericpol’s Real Estate Manager, who is responsible for the investment.
The four-storey modern office building designed by the HORIZONE STUDIO costs over 58 mln PLN. The building is being constructed on the former site of Scheibler’s palace garden and the Olimpia swimming pool. The style of its façades will be reminiscent of the nineteenth-century factory buildings in the city.
It is not the first investment by Ericpol that refers to the history of Łódź. In 2005 the company bought the then derelict industrial building at Dowborczyków Street 8. In 2007 it was completely renovated. Currently, it is a comfortable place of work for the part of Ericpol’s employees, mainly programmers.
The main elements of the office building under construction will be two wings connected by a glazed lobby. The total area of 10 500 sq m will comprise offices for 800 people, an underground car park for 90 cars, a server room, staff rooms, conference rooms and a canteen for employees. The new headquarters of Łódź Ericpol will be in accordance with standards of modern ecological office buildings. The design, which harmoniously blends in with the green area of a historic park, was approved by the Voivodeship Conservator of Historic Monuments.
