Ericsson acquires software developer Ericpol

Ericsson has concluded a preliminary share purchase agreement for the acquisition of Ericpol’s operations in Poland and Ukraine. The acquisition is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2016.
Ericpol is an engineering company operating since 1991 in the international ICT market. It provides outsourcing, consulting and integration services, delivers dedicated solutions in the areas of telecommunications, M2M communication (machine to machine), IoT (Internet of Things), applications for the medical, finance and banking sectors, as well as solutions for business. Ericpol has 4 offices in Poland and three subsidiaries in Belarus, Ukraine and Sweden, which together form the Ericpol Group, employing over 2,000 workers.
Ericsson has been its largest customer by far. Both companies have been cooperating for 24 years in telecommunication area. Soon about 2,000 employees from Poland and Ukraine will join Ericsson. The acquisition creates an opportunity for Ericsson to secure key competence with a deep knowledge, since the company gains experienced specialists in radio, cloud and IP areas to enable business continuity. Ericpol also brings ICT capabilities markets for information communication and industry verticals such as automotive, automation, banking, healthcare and administration.
Ericsson has been present in Poland some 111 years and has continuously developed its operations there over time. This marks yet another step in that evolution and once this acquisition is finalized, Ericsson will have over 2,500 employees in Poland.
