17 February 2014

Ericpol has prepared an offer of paid internships for students and graduates. Three work placements within the “Internships for Young People” programme organised in Łódź and several dozen more as part of the Ericpol Summer Internships Programme.
“Internships for Young People” is an initiative which was brought to life as a consequence of the “Project – Work for Young People” debate held at the University of Łódź on 6 December 2013. The main aim of the programme is to support graduates on the local labour market and seek solutions to the problem of increasing unemployment among young people. Fifteen of the top companies from Łódź took part in the programme by offering a total of 25 paid internships. The “Internships for Young People” programme organised in collaboration with the University of Łódź and the Łódź Special Economic Zone is held under the patronage of: The European Commission Representation in Poland, the “Gazeta Wyborcza” daily newspaper, The City of Łódź Council and the Marshall’s Office of the Łódź Voivodeship.

Under the programme, Ericpol offered 3 work placements to students from Łódź. The candidates who successfully get through the recruitment process are given an opportunity to improve their programming skills during a two- to three-month-long paid internship, and will have a chance to be permanently employed in the company. Details about the offer can be found on the website of the Careers Office at the University of Łódź. Electronic applications must be submitted by the end of February.

The Ericpol Summer Internships Programme is aimed at students from Łódź and Kraków. The internships are paid and usually take place between 1 July and 30 September; applications can be sent starting from 1 March. The daily tasks of the interns include working on an individual project or supporting the department they have been assigned to. During the internships, students undergo internal training, are given their own workstations and adequate tools and equipment; their operations are supervised by a mentor. Additionally, the students participate in the normal activities of the company, e.g. social events. Having completed the internships, the students receive written references. Offers of internships will be published on soon.

‘Applications for internships can be submitted until the end of April. We are inviting students of all majors to take part in the programme on the condition that they fulfil the requirements specified in individual offers, which may include foreign languages, knowledge in the scope of finance or various programming skills. The students will spend the entire holidays with us, hence we would like the internships to be suitably adjusted to their interests and aptitudes; what is most important, we want the students to gain satisfaction’, explains Olga Błaszczyk who is in charge of the Ericpol Summer Internships Programme. As many as 1200 applications were submitted and 70 students completed internships at Ericpol during the previous edition of the Summer Internships Programme. ‘More than half of them were permanently employed. This year we are counting on a similar result’, says Olga Błaszczyk.
