Ericpol launches winter and closes summer internships
7 November 2014
Summer internships in Ericpol have been completed with notable success. Two thirds of those who spent the summer in the company were employed and 95 percent of this year’s trainees would recommend an internship or employment at Ericpol to their friends. The company has launched a recruitment process for winter internships in response to enormous interest from students.
Several factors contributed to the success of the internships. As during the previous year, there were twenty applications for each available internship; 117 students were selected out of 2,400 candidates. Interns supported Ericpol employees both in administrative departments (HR, trainings, accounting) as well as technical divisions: 42 in Łódź and 75 in the office in Kraków. Under the supervision of tutors, they created tools or performed tasks directly for customers.
“This year we were positively surprised by the high level of knowledge and skills of trainees. We selected the best of the best. It therefore comes as no surprise that after three months of intensive work, we offered almost 80 persons the opportunity to work with us on more beneficial conditions,” says Olga Błaszczyk, Coordinator of the Summer Internship Programme at Ericpol.
Preparations for the Programme start in spring. Ericpol guarantees that the students invited to cooperate are provided with the necessary tools, a series of trainings, duties, remuneration and the chance to integrate, as well as a tutor suited to their role. As a result, 95 percent of the trainees declared in the questionnaire conducted at the end of the Programme that they would recommend an internship or employment at Ericpol to their friends.
After a three-month internship, these young people are prepared for a smooth start in their first job within new teams. “Ten people who finished the Summer Internship Programme started working in my department as of October. Most of them still study and require personalised working hours, so we organise work and communication in such a way as to reconcile their duties and education,” stated Miłosz Konkel, Manager of the Core Network Department.
Due to the popularity of the Programme, Ericpol has decided to organise paid winter internships. The company is looking for students from technical departments in Łódź and Krakow with knowledge of at least one programming/technological language at an independent level (C, C++, C#, Java, J2EE, Linux/Unix, Sharepoint, ASP.NET, .NET). Trainees will be assigned to technical departments responsible for creating applications for internal needs, products for customers (e.g. designing web applications) or preparing tests, etc.
