18 June 2014
Ericpol took part in the economic forum entitled “Towards New Perspectives. The Economic and Business Dimension of 10 years of Poland’s Membership in the EU” organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm and the Polish-Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
The Polish-Swedish Economic Forum was held on 17 June in Stockholm. One of the objectives of the meeting was to summarise the experiences of Poland’s membership in the EU.
Ericpol was invited to participate in a panel discussion as a Polish company that has been successful on the Swedish market and, at the same time, the sole representative of the IT sector. The company was represented by Patrik Jigblad, Managing Director of the Swedish subsidiary Ericpol AB, and Harald Kjellin, member of Ericpol’s Board of Management.
– The main source of Ericpol’s success on the Swedish market includes the competences of Polish engineers and the unique approach to customers. – Patrik Jigblad said during the panel discussion. In order to get closer to the customer in Sweden CEO Jan Smela made a decision 10 years ago to open a local company – Ericpol AB. – The Swedish branch office definitely makes it easier to operate on this market, and makes it possible to strengthen relationships with customers and increase the export of services. Hence, our position in the Swedish IT sector is constantly growing. – Patrik Jigblad underlined.
Ericpol is the largest exporter of IT services in Poland and since 1991 has been providing advanced information technology services to the Swedish company Ericsson – a leader in the global telecommunications sector.
Representatives of companies such as Solaris Bus & Coach S.A, KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. and the largest Swedish concerns operating in Poland (IKEA, Skanska, Ericsson) took part in the conference. Polish and Swedish authorities were also represented at the Forum: Frank Belfrage, Secretary of State at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Andrzej Dycha, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Economy.
The Polish-Swedish Economic Forum is a joint initiative of the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion of the Polish Embassy in Stockholm and the Polish-Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
