Bugs run to help others
29 September 2014
On September 26 a swarm of Runtime Bugs will set off from the registered office of Ericpol at Bobrzyńskiego Street 12. The ten-kilometre bug run is the last edition of the charity fundraiser launched with the Ericpol Classic bike race that took place on September 12.
The Cracow bug race is one of the elements of the “Ericpol fulfils dreams” campaign aimed at raising funds for the dependents of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation. As part of the charity campaign, the Ericpol Classic 2014 bike race between Cracow and Łódź was held. In addition, prizes, biddings and auctions of items donated by the company’s employees were organized. The bug race is the culmination of the event thanks to which girls from Cracow and Łódź will be given their wished-for laptops.
“The idea of the run was obvious to us. We wanted to support the charity campaign in a crazy way, so we spontaneously decided about running dressed as bugs. «Bugs» are an element of our everyday reality: someone writes a computer program with bugs and someone else corrects them,” – says Tomasz Skoczkowski, the originator of and a participant in the race.
Members of the Ericpol Runtime Runner Club dressed as bees, ladybugs, flies and Maybugs participate in the event. Their task is to run a total distance of 100 km, as each kilometre has been sponsored by Ericpol’s employees during the bidding organized by the company. The route of the run has been planned is such a way so that the donors who sponsor the event could see it live. A dozen people will start from Ericpol’s registered office at Bobrzyńskiego Street 12, visit successive offices along the route and finish the run at a club training session at Na Groblach Square.
Detailed schedule of the race:
1. Start: Bobrzyńskiego Street 12 – 3:30 p.m.
2. Stop 1: Wadowicka Street 6 – 4:10 p.m.
3. Stop 2: Madalińskiego Street 2 – 4:45 p.m.
4. Finish: Na Groblach Square – 4:55 p.m.
5. Training: 5 p.m.
